Rogue Traders Film Their Latest Video!, ...Set Report... Options

Hey Guys,

Well as promised, it's your old mate James here - slightly better rested after my brief post last night - with an update on the filming of our latest video clip here in Sydney!

Before I start, I just want to say how exciting the last few weeks have been for all of us in the band. It may seem like months of inactivity to you guys, but for us, we've been really busy planning album and video artwork, finishing a brand new album, and locking down our general plans for the next twelve months or so. There's so much coming on the RT front, and it all starts in about a months time...

Anyway, as many of you were aware, yesterday (Monday 30th July 2007) Nat, myself, Cam and Danny shot our new video clip for our next single!

It actually all began long before that, with conference calls discussing everything from clothing to lighting to special effects. We all travelled up Sunday and had fittings with our stylist to make sure they'd be no dramas the following monrning.

And what an early morning it was, Nat and I were already pretty much made-up by 7am and getting ready for our first shots, which believe it or not - was actually on location - not in a studio...

Where? Well, Nat and I were filming the first day's shots in a Sydney Hospital! Exactly what we were doing I can't quite reveal yet, but suffice to say we both got to play with Stethoscopes and Clipboards - exciting stuff! In a change from past vids, Nat and I are playing both ourselves in the band, plus other characters (and at the risk of sounding super-confusing, other versions of ourselves, too!). Don't worry - all will become clear!

After a few hours filming we all packed up and made the trip right across town to a more traditional studio, where our sound stage awaited for the rest of the clip. Here Danny and Cam were waiting, but they had to wait a while longer (Cam had his crossword, anyway), as Nat and I went straight into a bunch of green-screen special effects shots - still in our doctor's uniforms.

Soon the rest of the band got their turn under the lights, and without giving anything away, each of us gets to display a special 'talent' in this clip.

I got to 'branch-out' from myself. Cam was able to show why he's the best in the business, Nat keeps us in suspense, and Danny finds a new way to express his art.

In the end, it was an exceptionally long day - the crew worked for twenty hours straight. We did locations, green screen, and traditional band set-ups. We also did big special effect shots.

I know you lot are dying for more info, so I'll say this, if you wanted to sum it up in a sentence, you could say our clip was like Grey's Anatomy meets Heroes. Except we're in it.

Expectations can be dangerous things, but I will say this - this was the most fun, and by far the longest shoot, we've ever done on a clip.

Now, like you, I dying to see the result....

this sounds all very exiting james, any idea on when the video will get its world premiere or when the single will be released to radio? ive guessed you probably cant tell us which song it is until a certain date so i will be very patient.

OMG a hospital??? i love hospitals, one of my fave places... omg greys anatomy/heroes?? cant wait. i need to nickname you all if you're going to be doctors... hmm... McSexy is nat.... James can be... ugh.... McAwesome or maybe McDJ or McCute i dunno.... cam can be... McHot or McDrummer and danny can my McRockstar. yep got you all names!!! *claps* yay

Look what you've done, got me all crazy and thinking about greys anatomy.
