Hey Guys,

Just writing to let you know we have moved our gig at Star City from April 10 to August 20. (But DON'T PANIC - you'll see why)

We have done this for two reasons.

First reason: We are required to go back and do a bit more work on our album and we have been given a mastering date of mid April.

Second reason: We are putting such an enormous amount of work into this show (19 songs, 10 dancers, custom staging, plus a week of rehearsal) it is crazy to do all this for just one show only. SO - we have decided to make the show the start of a TOUR. So rather than waste all that effort on a single show - we get to take it around the country (and dramatically reduce overheads).

Now I know you guys are incredibly loyal fans and many of you have already spent money getting tickets for the show - and we won't let you down. ALL tickets will be honoured.

I know everyone (including us) is disappointed in the short term- but in the end, it will be definitely be worth it and the upside is we get to share the show with Australia!

Sorry again everyone - but I wanted to let people know directly on the forum from us - the band.

Cheers for now,

J&M

Will the show be filmed for a DVD? Sounds like it's gonna be worth it - would be cool to have it filmed properly.

James,

I must say that I am extremely disappointed at how the announcement of this postponement was handled. sad.gif

I have front row seats for myself and 3 of my friends, and we came 'this close' to going to Scar City on Saturday night, simply because we had not been notified by Ticketmaster that the concert had been postponed.

I would have thought that an email or letter in the mail from Ticketmaster would have been forthcoming to advise ticket holders of the change of date, but this was not the case.

I only found out about the postponement because I happened to be reading a copy of MX that my housemate had brought home last Friday night. I was glancing thru it on Saturday morning, and I just happened to spot a small article, where the MX was apologising for promoting the original date in an earlier edition of the newspaper.

I was a bit annoyed... had been looking forward to the concert for a while, had dinner booked in Darling Harbour etc etc.

Even the front of the Rogue Traders website makes no announcement or apology for the change of date. Only the dates in the original article have been changed... no apology, no reason given.

I'm not one for crawling thru forums, so of course I only found the announcement here after doing a Google search.

Makes me wonder... how many people did show up at Star City on Saturday night??? wacko.gif

Also, in the above post, you mention that the up-coming tour will be going 'around the country'... I certainly hope this includes Hobart!!! As, I will be living in Hobart come August, so I'll need to fly back for the Star City gig... but I would also like to think that you're not going to leave Hobart off the schedule , like so many Australian acts do.

Can you confirm that the Concert will be going to Hobart?

Looking forward to your responce.

Cheers,

Marcus :-(

Hi there Marcus,

Thanks for your post.

Well I have to admit I was extremely shocked by what you wrote - and deeply concerned.

We were advised that everyone who got tix would be contacted and advised of the change of schedule immediately.

The fact that this hasn't happened is very upsetting to me.

Believe me when I say we are getting to the bottom of this as I type. When we find out who is responsible I will pass on your concerns directly - and - personally.

The thought of fans who paid good money to come and see us play, only not to be informed of the date change makes me sick. On behalf of the band, please accept my sincere apologies,

James

ps - we'd love to come back to Hobart again - but we will have to gauge if there are enough people wanting us to come!

James,

Whats going on?

In another thread it has been suggested that the concert at Star City schedualled for the 20th August has been cancelled.

Is this the case?

Should I cancel my accomodation at Star City for that evening?

I have not had any offical notification. There is no mention of it on the Rogies website.

Could you please confirm whether or not the gig has been cancelled, and if so, arrange for some offical notification to be put on the Rogies website?

Kinds Regards,

Marcus.

It's definitely cancelled.

You should have gotten an email about it if you bought your tickets online.

Yeah it's been cancelled for a while now... There's no news of any other gigs. And like Justin said you should have had an email sent to you from the ticket outlet.

Well... I got no email.

Still does not explain why there is no mention of the cancellation on the Rogies website... even the annoucement of the orginal dates has been removed.

Not good communication in my books. :-(

It's probably due to the fact that they didn't even know it was cancelled themselves, but yeah the site admins should have posted something by now...

Yeah... you would think so.

So... c'mon James... whats the story with the cancelation if the concert?

Whats the 'official' story?

Those of us with tix still stuck on the front of the fridge deserve an explanation... (especially those of us that had front row seats!!!!!!)

I'm not going to the show, but am curious about what is happening. Is there a reason for the cancellation?

I did ask James when I spoke to him a few weeks back and he was still uncertain. It was completely out of his hands, and of course he's just as pissed off about it as us... if not more after all the hard work they put into it.
